NMEA-linkage with GPS-navigation software

You can use your GPS-software as an accure navigation plotter for Sail Simulator 4.0 boats. This makes Sail Simulator 4.0 an ideal training tool for GPS-navigation.

The instruments onboard of the boats in Sail Simulator 4.0 generate NMEA-data to your selected COM port. This means that you can connect your Sail Simulator PC (A in figure) to your GPS-Navigation notebook (B in fig) running GPS-navigation Software like Stentec's WinGPS Pro. A nmea-crosslink cable can me made from 2 old mouse cables.

For all standard sailing area a WinGPS Pro 3 calibrated charts (chart.bmp) and calibration data (chart.chi) can be found in
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Stentec Shared\Sceneries\Sailing Area Of course only if you installed Sail Simulator on your PC.

A workable demo of WinGPS Pro 3.1 can be found on your Sail Simulator 4.0 CD or dowloaded from www.stentec.com.
